In a surprising partnership that breaks conventional forecasts, the game developer has revealed an in-game partnership between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the renowned anime series Attack on Titan. The unusual Thanksgiving event runs from November 25 through December 22, offering complimentary bonus story content for Shadows players.

Strange Questline Uncovered

According to the formal statement, "A strange meeting leads heroes Naoe and Yasuke into a new adventure, where whispers of prohibited rituals and fearsome metamorphoses reverberate through the shadows." The storyline introduces a "unusually attired woman named Ada" who tasks the characters with venturing into the Gemstone Grotto—a key location from Attack on Titan—to liberate her ally from a clandestine sect.

The adventure focuses on "bizarre experiments and a terrifying foe" and is accessible to all players who have acquired the Yasuke character.

Iconic Settings and Transformations

The teaser features the Subterranean Sanctuary from Attack on Titan recreated as the Crystal Cave. This important location was previously where the Reiss royal family passed down the Founding Titan ability through ages. The preview finishes with a powerful scene showing a character, likely the prisoner, changing into a Titan that towers over Naoe and Yasuke.

Exclusive Rewards and Additional Content

Players who successfully complete the quest will obtain an unique katana in addition to several objects hidden throughout the area in concealed chests. The update also includes in-store Attack on Titan item packs, featuring:

Third Free Story Content

This patch also adds the game's third free story addition, titled "A Puzzlement." This humorous mission partners Naoe and Yasuke as they trade distinctive skills: Naoe reveals a theatrical interpretation of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke acquires subduing stealth takedowns. Loyal to its name, "The Enigma" also includes a fresh environmental puzzle that may finally explain some unresolved questions from the main storyline.

The series previously included a 2020 collaborative story linking Assassin's Creed: Valhalla with Makoto Yukimura's Vinland Saga.
